Producing content is a collaboration between us and our clients. Usually, our clients give us some initial direction and sometimes we initiate the development to get the momentum going. It always focuses on a keyword strategy that we have developed for each specific piece of content we create.
It should always be evolving as new data and information become available. We incorporate what is necessary to stay relevant. This is the foundation of Search Engine Optimization.
Content length is typically going to be short-form or long-form. Short-form is what you see on blogs to explain subject matter at a general level or a specific topic. This is done using 500 to 1000 words along with images and media. Our content averages are closer to 1000 words with our minimum at 700 words.
Long-form is what you see when reading white papers or technical guides. This type of content contains several sections and possibly chapters. Each section and chapter is going to explain several topics in detail that describe a much larger concept. The amount of words is usually greater than 2500, which can be more than the maximum allowed for articles in many publications. This is often gated content requiring an exchange of information. This is a strategy we implement less frequently than short-form but are no less successful at it.

It’s not enough that we write great content with the right ratio of related keywords with useful information to make it a resource. We must also get other relevant domains with domain authority to link to your content. The more links of this variety you get then the higher your page authority increases which ranks the content to the top of search engines.
There is also interlinking which links content to other pages on our clients’ websites. This helps spread the “link juice” around your domain and tells other pages you want the crawlers to in index. Obviously, it also helps direct your users to other relevant pages, as well. Create content with links to other related content within it and get quality backlinks from domains in your industry. This is the backbone of our content strategy.
